This generous endowment is due in part to Making Memories national media coverage, including magazine articles in Redbook, Family Circle, Woman's Day, Martha Stewart’s Winter Wedding, Time, Philanthropy World and Modern Bride, along with appearances on, Oprah Winfrey, CNN, MSNBC, Ananda Lewis and hundreds of television and newspaper interviews.

A bride died from cancer hour and a half after her wedding. Elaine Stephenson, 48, a former nurse, married her partner of 11 years Chris Johnson, 50, in a bedside ceremony at Bury Hospice, Greater Manchester, UK. She died with Mr. Johnson and her 17 year old son Ashley at her side. The bride had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2002 and underwent anti-cancer therapy, but after the treatment the disease would return in 2004 and again last year. Read more
